QLA
Also referred to as Quality Level A (QLA), this service is often essential for future construction activities where precise utility information is critical. Contractors must know—and visually confirm—the exact depth and position of existing utilities before proceeding with excavation or installation work. Our low-risk, non-destructive excavation methods enable us to expose any locatable utility with accuracy and care. Once uncovered, we provide detailed, engineer- and surveyor-certified data sheets that document exact utility locations, depths, and conditions. QLB
Quality Level B (QLB) involves determining the precise location of existing utilities through advanced electronic detection methods. While not as exact as Quality Level A (QLA), QLB is an industry-accepted standard that provides critical utility mapping data for project planning and design. Our skilled technicians use state-of-the-art locating equipment to identify utility positions and collect depth information with exceptional accuracy within 1cm using Trimble GPS technology. Our deliverables can be tailored to client needs and may include GIS files, CAD drawings, and other detailed mapping products to ensure the information integrates seamlessly into your project’s engineering and construction workflows.
QLC
Quality Level C (QLC) is a SUE method used to support early-stage project planning and route design. By compiling and analyzing existing utility records, QLC provides engineers with an overview of known utilities along the proposed construction path. While it does not involve physical verification, this pre-design approach allows project teams to anticipate potential conflicts, evaluate route options, and develop preliminary plans with greater efficiency.
